Compared to the Rs 5,427 crore spent in the previous fiscal year, the government only intends to distribute Rs 4,884 crore in FY25.
According to a Money control analysis, overseas aid to India has decreased since the pandemic but has also expanded in diversity.
In the four years since FY22, the average annual aid has decreased to Rs 5,011 crore, down from Rs 5,805 crore in the four years preceding COVID-19.
Compared to the Rs 5,427 crore spent in the previous fiscal year, the government only intends to distribute Rs 4,884 crore in FY25.
But the trend just doesn’t pertain to the pandemic years. Between FY13-16, India had spent Rs 6,727 per annum on aid.
