Housing Sales In 2022: Due to the tremendous housing demand, the year 2022 has been very spectacular for the residential real estate sector. A record number of homes have been sold in 2022. Compared to 2021, the top 7 cities have seen a jump of 54 per cent in the sales of housing units in 2022. So in these seven cities, the prices of houses have become expensive by 4 to 7 percent in 2022.

Housing sales break 2014 record

Anarock has released the housing sales figures in 2022 in the top 7 cities of the country in terms of the housing market. According to these figures, a total of 3,64,900 housing units have been sold in these seven cities in 2022, which is 54 percent more than in 2021. In 2021, sales of a total of 2,36,500 housing units were seen. Earlier in 2014, 3.43 lakh housing units were sold, which was a record till now. On the release of these figures, Anarock Chairman Anuj Puri said that despite the jump in property prices, increase in home loan interest rates and global stress, 2022 has been very spectacular for the residential segment in the real estate sector. Housing sales have also crossed the level of record high of 2014. While new launches have been limited.

Highest sales of houses in Mumbai

Most of the houses have been sold in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. A total of 1,09,700 housing units have been sold in the MMR region, followed by Delhi NCR. Sales of a total of 63,700 housing units have been seen in Delhi NCR in 2022. According to Anarock, a total of 3,57,600 housing units have been launched in 2022, which is 51 percent more than 2,36,700 units in 2021. However, the launch of new housing units in 2022 is less than in 2014 when 5.45 lakh new housing units were launched in these seven cities. The maximum number of new housing units have been launched in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Hyderabad. Only these cities account for 54 per cent of the total new housing units launched.

45% new homes above Rs 80 lakh

According to statistics, 35 percent of the new housing units are in the range of Rs 40 to 80 lakhs. 28 per cent units are in the range of Rs 80 lakh to Rs 1.5 crore. While 17 per cent housing units have been launched in the range above Rs 1.5 crore. According to Anarock, the supply is less than the housing demand in the NCR region. A total of 63,700 housing units have been sold in 2022 while only 22,350 units have been launched. According to statistics, the inventory of houses has decreased by only one percent in 2022 as compared to 2021.

Property became expensive by 7 percent

The highest increase in house prices in 2022 has been seen in these top seven cities in Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Bangalore. Prices have increased by 7 percent in both these cities. Prices have increased by 6 percent in Hyderabad while 5 percent in Delhi NCR, Pune and Chennai. The lowest 4 per cent price hike has taken place in Kolkata.
