In such a situation, many big announcements can be made by the government in the Union Budget for the common citizens. To give relief to the common citizens, the government can make changes in tax exemption, benefits of schemes and some new rules. Meanwhile, it is also discussed that all the governments can increase the subsidy given under the Ujjwala Yojana (PM Ujjwala Yojana) on cooking gas.
The government currently gives subsidy (LPG Gas Subsidy) every month on 12 cylinders of the year under the Ujjwala scheme. People are given a subsidy of Rs 200 on every LPG cylinder. Now it is being said to increase it in the next financial year. Live Mint has informed quoting official sources that the government may extend the Ujjwala scheme beyond March 2023 to meet the 100 percent LPG coverage target.

The report said that one of the two officials said that the Finance Ministry may extend it for another financial year. This scheme provides financial assistance of Rs 1,600 to the people coming below the poverty line for taking LPG gas connection. Along with this, free refill and stove are also given. The government wants to strengthen this scheme further in North India.
