VGuard Industries: Since its incorporation, VGuard has diversified its product portfolio and established itself as a pan-India fast-moving electric goods (FMEG) player, with 14% sales growth over the last decade. In electronics, company is the market leader and dominates the stabiliser category. There is a positive correlation between the sales of stabilisers and air-conditioners, televisions and refrigerators as it ensures safe and secure power supply for efficient functioning of devices. The business is well-established in the market for water heaters (electric and solar). Another growing product in this segment is fans, where it has increased its market share over a period by expanding its distribution reach and is now expanding its product portfolio by moving up in premium products. The company has been able to maintain EBITDA margins in the 9-11% range on account of various cost-optimisation measures and operational efficiencies. Going forward, the management expects the operating margins to be around 10-11% for the next few years. Positive on VGuard given its financial track record, business strategy and competitive market positioning.
JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals: JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals announced that it has received ANDA approval from the USFDA for Venlafaxine Extended Release Tablets 37.5mg, 75mg, 150mg and 225mg. This product is based on OROS (Osmotic Controlled Release Oral Delivery System) technology, an advanced and precision-controlled release mechanism. The generic product approval is bioequivalent and therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug (RLD), Venlafaxine Hydrochloride Extended-Release Tablets, 37.5 mg, 75 mg, 150 mg, and 225 mg, of Osmotica Pharmaceutical U.S. LLC. As per IQVIA Health MAT Oct 2022 data, Venlafaxine Extended-Release tablets recorded annualized sales of approximately $ 48 million in the US. Positive on JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals as the Venlafaxine drug has good amount of market in US and the approval will help in improving its US sales.
