Iphone by Tata: Tata has decided to double Apple’s iPhone production in the country. Tata Group company Tata Electronics will increase the capacity of its Hosur plant. The company will complete this work in approximately 18 months. As a result, around 25 to 28,000 people are likely to find employment. Once the project is completed, the capacity of the company’s Hosur plant will double. In addition to this, the country’s iPhone exports will also increase.

Tata Electronics had recently acquired the Wistron plant located in Kolar district of Karnataka. With this, the company’s ability to manufacture high-end electronic items and accessories has increased. An investment of Rs 5,000 crore has been made on the Hosur unit. Currently, 15,000 employees work in this factory spread over approximately 500 acres. If the factory is expanded in a year to a year and a half, the number of employees could reach 28,000 people.

The company will focus more on iPhone manufacturing

According to sources, the factory will be expanded keeping only iPhone manufacturing in mind. Apple phone parts will be manufactured here. If necessary, the company can also use it for other products. Land is being sought nearby for this plant. iPhones made here will also be exported. Tata wants to promote smartphone manufacturing in the country. This factory will play a very important role in this project.

Apple beats Samsung

When Apple decided to move its manufacturing out of China, it chose only Tata of India. After that, the American company entrusted the manufacturing of the iPhone to Tata Electronics. In the second quarter of the current financial year, Apple overtook Samsung to become India’s largest smartphone exporting company. Around 12 million phones were transferred from the country to other countries during the quarter. Of this amount, 49 percent belonged to Apple and 45 percent to Samsung.
