Sensex Decreased More Than 1 Lakh Crore Last Week MarketGyani.com

Market Capitalization: The market capitalization (market cap) of eight of the top 10 Sensex companies collectively declined by Rs 1,06,991.42 crore last week. Information technology sector companies Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) suffered the most. The market capitalization of Infosys declined by Rs 25,185.37 crore to Rs 6,09,687.79 crore in the week under review. Infosys suffered the most.

HDFC Bank and TCS also suffered huge losses.

Apart from this, HDFC Bank also had to face losses. HDFC Bank’s market capitalization declined by Rs 18,375.41 crore to Rs 8,89,130 crore. TCS’s market cap declined by Rs 17,289.02 crore to Rs 11,75,287.30 crore and that of ICICI Bank declined by Rs 14,447.69 crore to Rs 6,07,140.65 crore.

Except LIC and HUL, all other companies suffered losses.

Last week, the 30-share BSE Sensex lost 940.37 points or 1.55 per cent. Except Hindustan Unilever and Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), the market valuation of other companies decreased in the last week.

Apart from SBI and HDFC, RIL suffered losses.

The market valuation of State Bank of India (SBI) declined by Rs 11,245.01 crore to Rs 5,36,012.18 crore. HDFC’s market cap declined by Rs 7,419.45 crore to Rs 4,74,018.02 crore. The market capitalization of Reliance Industries declined by Rs 7,408.2 crore to Rs 17,16,571.25 crore. Bharti Airtel’s market cap declined by Rs 5,621.27 crore and stood at Rs 4,43,356.45 crore.

There was an increase in the market capitalization of these companies

Contrary to this trend, the market capitalization of LIC saw a jump of Rs 14,105.09 crore to reach Rs 4,47,114.09 crore. Hindustan Unilever’s valuation climbed Rs 4,053.05 crore to Rs 6,05,489.67 crore.

Reliance Industries retained the first position in the top 10

Reliance Industries retained the first position in the list of top 10 companies. It was followed by TCS, HDFC Bank, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Hindustan Unilever, SBI, HDFC, LIC and Bharti Airtel respectively.
